Wins at Long Beach, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and VIRginia International Raceway propelled Gavin and teammate Tommy Milner to the 2012 ALMS GT championship. ...The duo clinched the championship a round early at VIR, where Gavin made his 100th career ALMS start.

At Sebring, an improbable collision in the pit lane with sister car as well as broken headlights when darkness fell caused the No. 4 Corvette to place ninth in class. ...
