Christian Fittipaldi will lead the field to the green flag for Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Belle Isle Park, after an incident involving the points-leading No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R team prevented the 15-minute qualifying session from fulfilling the required 10 minutes of green flag qualifying time.

A-Plus Performance by Aschenbach, Audi Brings GT Daytona Pole at Detroit

In a thrilling GT Daytona (GTD) class qualifying session for Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Belle Isle Park, Lawson Aschenbach delivered the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pole position for Audi since 2015 with a GTD track-record effort.

On his final lap of the 15-minute session, Aschenbach posted a best time of 1 minute, 30.200 seconds (93.7 mph) in the No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Audi R8 LMS GT3 to secure the class pole for tomorrow’s 100-minute sprint race on the 2.350-mile Belle Isle street circuit.

Barbosa, Fittipaldi Looking to Parlay Sneak Preview into Chevrolet Sports Car Classic Success

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship drivers Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi participated in a Media Hot Lap Day at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park last Tuesday as a prelude to this Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic.

The race will be televised live on FS2 beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET, with a rebroadcast on FS1 airing at 9 a.m. ET Sunday. IMSA Radio also will have live coverage throughout the weekend, including its race broadcast airing online at, SiriusXM and locally in the Detroit market on WCSX FM 94.7.

Karam, Shank Flying IMSA Flag at Indy

“We’re reppin’ IMSA,” says Sage Karam of himself and Michael Shank Racing and their efforts in the 101st Indianapolis 500.

Karam is a full-time IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driver, sharing the No. 14 3GT Racing Lexus RC F GT3 in the GT Daytona (GTD) class with Scott Pruett, a sports car racing legend and veteran IndyCar and Indy 500 racer.
