Rebellion Racing Return To U.S. Racing

REBELLION Racing will compete in the 2017 Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup. The Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup is a unique four-race competition encompassing the marquee endurance races on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule. This distinguished endurance competition features 52 hours of racing at North America’s most prestigious endurance racing events, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 6 Hours of The Glen and Petit Le Mans.

Cadillac Confirms Daytona Prototype international to Debut in 2017 Rolex 24 At Daytona

“Cadillac is proud to return to the pinnacle of prototype racing in North America after a 14-year absence.”

Those were the words used by Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen to confirm that three Cadillac Daytona Prototype international (DPi) race cars will compete in the full 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Prototype (P) class, beginning with the 55th Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 28-29, 2017.  The new car will be known as the Cadillac DPi-V.R and is the first prototype race car from the New York-headquartered manufacturer since 2002.

Turning Point Tuesday: Bold Late-Season Moves Give Cameron, Curran Prototype Championship in No. 31 Corvette DP

In 2015, the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic in Detroit saw No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette DP co-drivers Eric Curran and Dane Cameron stand atop the victory podium for their first Prototype win, and first podium, of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

At the same event in 2016, Cameron and Curran battled mechanical issues after an early incident, relegating them to a fifth-place finish. However, the way the team dealt with adversity in Detroit set the tone for a successful championship run.

Alan Jay Paddock Unveiled at Sebring Raceway

Sebring International Raceway today announced a long-term marketing partnership with the Alan Jay Automotive Network, highlighted by naming rights of the Sebring Raceway Paddock.

Sebring International Raceway’s Paddock is now officially designated “The Alan Jay Paddock.” New lighted entrance signs into the Alan Jay Paddock will welcome the thousands of fans, competitors and media attending events at the raceway, highlighted by the 65th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida, March 15-18th.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park: IMSA Races to the North

Each year, The IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge hop across the longest international border in the world to bring some of the best sports car racing to Canada.

With several teams and drivers hailing from America’s neighbor to the north, the race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario, only 90 minutes northeast of Toronto, provides an opportunity for some of IMSA’s best to showcase their talent in front of their home crowd.

The Magic of Camp Boggy Creek

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to volunteer at Camp Boggy Creek, a proud charity of IMSA. Boggy Creek was founded in 1996 by Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, with one simple premise in mind - that every child, no matter their illness, could experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand in hand with camp.

Much of Corvette Racing’s success in the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in recent years had come from the No. 3 of Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen, but the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finally saw the rivaling talent of Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner shine through.
