Policaro Motorsport Returns to GT3 Cup Canada with Two-Car Effort
Tuesday, March 26, 2019

Policaro Motorsport announced on Monday its plans for the 2019 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama season.

The championship-winning team will field two Porsche GT3 Cup cars, clad in a striking and wild livery for the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama series. The team has signed some familiar faces to take on the driving duties, including 2018 GT3 Cup Canada Rookie of the Year Jeff Kingsley and the 2018 Canadian Touring Car Champion in the GT class, Ethan Simioni.

"It's a thrill to have Jeff and Ethan with us again this year" said Policaro Group CEO Francesco Policaro. "We are committed to finding and developing top Canadian motorsport talent—both Jeff and Ethan have what it takes to be at the top".

Jeff Kingsley is no stranger to the Policaro Motorsport program, having driven with the team in 2017 in the Canadian Touring Car Championship, and in last year’s Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama series.

"I'm stoked to be with the team again," said Kinglsey. "I had some success winning Rookie of the Year in 2018 and I'll be building on that experience this season."

Joining Kingsley will be Ethan Simioni. Simioni is no stranger to Policaro Motorsport having won the 2018 Canadian Touring Car Championship in the GT class in the Policaro BMW M235iR. This will be Simioni’s first year behind the wheel of a Porsche.

To support the program, Policaro Motorsport will have a new team Manager, Dirk Dunschede. Dunschede brings decades of Porsche experience as a gold-certified Porsche technician and workshop foreman. His race experience includes Policaro/Alegra Porsche GT3 Cup Canada, Rolex and Grand-Am Cup series—including two championships—and two Rolex 24 At Daytona podium finishes, one of which was a class win in 2003.
