TYLER MAXSON, No. 74 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “These guys have given us such great cars all year. It’s a great testament to the team being our first year in Mustang Challenge. Having two cars from the same team fighting for the championship is about all you can ask for. I wouldn’t want to race anyone else, Robert [Noaker] has raced clean all year. It’s going to come down to tomorrow, we’ll see who gets it. Either way it’s been a hard fought championship for both of us.”
ROBERT NOAKER, No. 13 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “We started off really good, pulling a decent lead. We set the car up for a short run pace, expecting a caution or two, but got a full green flag race, which is great for the fans and for the series. At the end, lap traffic started to get into it. When you have a battle in one class and a battle in another, no one wants to give an inch. Tyler [Maxson] got me on the front straight in the end. What a finish, four-wide across the bricks is something else.”
REID SWEENEY, No. 31 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “The race was awesome, I couldn’t wish for it to go any better. I knew Tyler [Maxson] and Robert [Noaker] are the best of the best, and would be quick out of the gate. I focused on maintaining position, and am happy with a third in this race. Tomorrow we start further up near the front, so I’m looking forward to battling the top two.”
ALEX BACHOURA, No. 33 Spark Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “The race went as expected with missing practice and qualifying. I’m really happy where I ended up. It took a few laps to learn the track. I managed to keep pace up, so it was a great race and I look forward to Race two tomorrow.”
ALFONSO DIAZ, No. 15 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “My first race in Mustang Challenge started very well. We started at the back due to an incident in qualifying and setting of the starting grid based on championship points. I fought my way up to P2. This is my first time in a Dark Horse R and it’s really fun to drive. We passed a lot of cars, and it was very interesting to learn the platform.”
MIKE STILLWAGON, No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “I can’t complain too much, I finished third. It was a good race, tire management was key. I’m extremely happy that my car owner could be here today from Long Island, it means alot to me. Thank you to Skip Barber race team for always keeping the car prepared, it’s been great from the beginning and that’s all you can ask for.”
Chloe Chambers, who announced her partnership with Ford Performance and Red Bull Racing for the 2025 F1 Academy season, gave her thoughts about the race. Chambers placed 9th overall, gaining ten positions, in the Red Bull Ford Mustang Dark Horse R.
CHLOE CHAMBERS, No. 3 Spark Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “The race today was good. I started 19th and was able to make up a lot of positions at the start. I focused on consistency and managed to catch a couple of the groups in front of me. This is my second time driving the Dark Horse R, the driving performance is improving with every session. I’m looking forward to starting higher on the grid tomorrow, it should make for a better race.
I really enjoy driving the Ford Mustang Dark Horse R. The car is nimble and fun to throw into corners at pace being a sports car. You shouldn’t be afraid in this car to make moves on track. The competitiveness is also super close being a spec series. Everyone has someone to race, so it makes it a great place for drivers of all skill levels to come and compete.
