The Lexus RC F GT3 made its debut in the GT Daytona (GTD) class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona. VASSER SULLIVAN is in its second season fielding two Lexus entries in IMSA’s GT Daytona class after winning two races and earning five podium finishes during the team’s inaugural season in 2019.

The Lexus RC F GT3 also won two races, earned three podium finishes and five pole positions in the GTD class with 3GT Racing in 2017 and 2018. Previously, Lexus-powered Prototypes enjoyed success in American sports car competition from 2004 to 2009. Lexus V8 motors powered Chip Ganassi Racing to victory in 25 races, including three consecutive Rolex 24 at Daytona wins from 2006 to 2008.

Lexus began its journey in 1989 with two luxury sedans and a commitment to pursue perfection. Since then, Lexus has developed its lineup to meet the needs of global luxury customers in more than 90 countries. In the United States, Lexus vehicles are sold through 241 dealers offering a full lineup of luxury vehicles. The Lexus F performance story began in 2008 with the launch of the IS F sedan, and later the limited production, exotic LFA coupe in 2012. The current Lexus high performance line includes the RC F, GS F and LC 500. Fans can get an up-close look at F performance vehicles at the Lexus Racing Experience onsite at the majority of IMSA races throughout the season.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features two styles of cars – Prototype (P), which showcases the latest automotive technology and are uniquely designed for the racetrack, and Grand Touring (GT), which is based on road-going production models. These two styles of cars make up the series’ three classes – Prototype, GT Daytona PRO (GTD PRO) and GT Daytona (GTD).
