McLaren Automotive has now launched the McLaren Customer Racing division, which is responsible for the build of the 570S GT4 and 720S GT3 cars, and the support of all customer teams and individuals racing and running track-only McLaren cars around the world.

The 570S GT4 was launched in 2016, and is now entering its third full season of competitive customer racing activity, having enjoyed significant global success to date. The 720S GT3 was unveiled last year, and is the first GT model to be fully designed and developed model by McLaren Automotive. Following an intensive development programme during 2018, customer car deliveries are now well-underway for the 2019 season, with teams competing – and winning – across the globe.

More information about McLaren Customer Racing, the 720S GT3 and the 570S GT4 can be found here – http://cars.mclaren.com/customer-racing.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features two styles of cars – Prototype (P), which showcases the latest automotive technology and are uniquely designed for the racetrack, and Grand Touring (GT), which is based on road-going production models. These two styles of cars make up the series’ three classes – Prototype, GT Daytona PRO (GTD PRO) and GT Daytona (GTD).

The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge features sports cars that are closely identifiable with those seen on the street, such as coupes, hatchbacks and sedans. Two classes make up this series – GS, the highest performing class and the intermediate TCR class.
