Canadian driver tops charts for USA series points total

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Jesse Lazare and his Door Doctor sponsored Porsche GT3 Cup car had a solid weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix. Lazare ended up with two podium finishes overall. He was also the top scoring USA series driver in both races.

“It was a very challenging weekend,” Lazare said. “I was challenged by the best drivers from both the Canadian and the USA series. To leave with two podiums is good, but I really wanted to win here at home. Still, we scored good points and now we look forward to the next round at Watkins Glen.”

Lazare showed pace in practice and managed to qualify third of the grid, just a few tenths off pole. “It’s so tough here with the long straight. If the wind picks up or drops off just a bit, it can make 3/10ths difference in your lap time,” Lazare said.

In the first race of the weekend, Lazare made a good start but was unable to improve his position, finishing third. In race two, from second on the grid, Lazare got shuffled back to fourth, but a strong drive – with fastest race lap – got him back to second. “We just needed a little bit more today, but I am happy with two podiums in two days and being the top USA series driver,” Lazare said.

Lazare has now won 5 of the 6 races in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama. “Thanks for all the support from Door Doctor, Porsche Prestige, Garaga, Micanan, TNR Doors, Olymbec,Smoke Show Sauce, Kelly-Moss Motorsports, and my family for all their support this year,” Lazare added.
