Hagerty Becomes IMSA’s Newest Corporate Partner

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2020) – The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and Hagerty, the world’s largest membership, insurance and media organization for enthusiast vehicle owners, today announced a new, multi-faceted Official Partner agreement.

The partnership will introduce IMSA’s fan base of affluent automobile enthusiasts to Hagerty Drivers Club (HDC), providing premium services and experiences to people who love cars. HDC features an award-winning magazine, exclusive digital automotive content, product discounts, members-only events and more. The partnership also will familiarize IMSA fans with the company’s comprehensive range of associated insurance products – all designed to enhance the experience of owning, driving and loving cars.

IMSA is the premier sanctioning body for sports car competition in North America.

“This is a natural partnership,” said Chandler McCallum, senior manager of motorsport marketing. “We love driving in all its forms, from racing to Sunday drives, and so do IMSA fans and participants. We can’t wait to connect with them.”

At-track, Hagerty will connect with fans through one of the most popular events of an IMSA weekend – the IMSA Fan Grid Walk Presented by Hagerty. The event invites all fans onto the pre-race grid to get an up-close look at the race cars and meet their favorite driver. Also, Hagerty will entertain key clients and select Drivers Club members with IMSA VIP Experiences, including hot lap rides and guided pit tours while hosting guests in the IMSA WeatherTech Paddock Club VIP hospitality suite and viewing area.

Away from the track, Hagerty will reach and engage IMSA’s fan base through a significant digital presence, including alignment with IMSA’s live streaming platform – IMSA.tv. Hagerty is also the presenting sponsor for two highly viewed pre-race video features.

One is the pre-race Lap Around The Track Presented by Hagerty, featuring a different car and driver taking the viewer through a lap of the track. The other is the high-energy IMSA Sights and Sounds Presented by Hagerty, offering fans fast-moving post-race highlights of each class competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Hagerty-produced entertainment features, including articles and videos, will be highlighted across IMSA.com, as well as the IMSA Insider, the sanctioning body’s weekly e-newsletter.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hagerty as one of our official partners as so many of our fans are car enthusiasts,” said David Pettit, IMSA senior vice president of marketing and business operations. “Their products and services fit perfectly into the car culture lifestyle that is part of our events and fan base. I know we are all looking forward to this partnership and how we can both reach common goals and objectives by working together.”

As part of its IMSA partnership, Hagerty will offer policyholders and Drivers Club Members a special offer on TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold. The new streaming service is IMSA’s home for live, exclusive coverage of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and the IMSA Prototype Challenge, as well as WeatherTech Championship race coverage.
