IMSA Expands Partnership with VP Racing Fuels

IMSA announced today an additional category for its long-term partnership with VP Racing Fuels in addition to the company’s status as the “Official Fuel Provider of IMSA.”

VP Racing Fuels has introduced a new Stay Frosty® coolant line and the new products now will be designated the “Official Performance Coolant of IMSA” in a seven-year deal that will conclude following the 2027 season. The original partnership between IMSA and VP Racing Fuels began the inaugural year of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2014.

The Stay Frosty® products are for fans and competitors, as VP Racing Fuels offers a Hi-Performance Formula for high-performance passenger cars and a Racing Formula for high-compression, high-heat racing engines.

“VP Racing Fuels continues to innovate through the development of the new Stay Frosty® product, which is one of the many reasons we are proud to have the company as an IMSA Partner,” said David Pettit, IMSA Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Operations. “VP continues to find ways to enhance the racing landscape and simultaneously keep our fans in mind. Not only are we thrilled to support the new product line, but also to further strengthen the commitment our two businesses have to each other.”

IMSA and VP Racing Fuels reaffirmed their partnership with a long-term extension in 2017 during which it was announced that VP Racing Fuels would be the sole fuel provider for the IMSA-sanctioned series in the United States. Additionally, IMSA representation at VP gas stations and on products sold at local retailers increased as a result of the partnership.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with IMSA beyond our industry leading race fuels as our Stay Frosty® coolants are now the ‘Official Performance Coolant of IMSA,’” said Bruce Hendel, Vice President of North American Sales – Race Fuel and Consumer Products for VP Racing Fuels. “Our water-based, glycol-free race ready version reduces engine temps up to 30F and cylinder head temps up to 75F, while our hi-performance street version also lowers engine and cylinder temps. Reducing engine temperatures improves power and reliability for IMSA race teams and fans.”
