Full IMSA GTD PRO Class Season for DragonSpeed Ferrari

Motul Petit Le Mans Winner Costa Named as Driver

DragonSpeed has announced its full-time entry into the prestigious Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) class of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Stepping up to the pinnacle of North American GT competition, the longtime Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) frontrunners will campaign a Ferrari 296 GT3, marking a new chapter in its storied motorsport journey.

Joining the DragonSpeed campaign as a full-season driver is Albert Costa, who finished fourth in the 2024 Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) standings while driving a Conquest Racing Ferrari. Costa and his co-drivers topped off the season by winning the GTD class race at the season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.

Costa’s proven talent underscores the team’s commitment to success as it transitions into GTD PRO. The team’s full driver lineup and livery for the Rolex 24 At Daytona will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

DragonSpeed team principal Elton Julian said, “After achieving nearly everything possible in global LMP2, I am proud to bring the team to the top class of American GT racing. Signing a talent like Albert to be our full-time driver signals our intentions for 2025. There are many more details to be revealed, but I’m very pleased with the package we are putting together and expect to be in contention from the start of the season at Daytona.”
