Megennis, Lastochkin Join Czabok-Simpson Motorsport for Michelin Pilot Challenge

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Czabok-Simpson Motorsport (CSM) is delighted to announce the signing of Robert Megennis for 2025, as the team enters their second season in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. He will partner returning driver Nikita Lastochkin who had a strong debut with the team in 2024. The No. 2 Grand Sport (GS) car will debut at Sebring during the second round of the championship. Robert will join previously announced drivers, Gordon Scully and Morgan Burkhard in the No. 67 car for Daytona.

“I’m super excited to be joining CSM for my fifth year of IMSA racing!” said Megennis, a New York City resident. “Huge thanks to Stephen, Matthias, Porsche Motorsport and the whole team for this opportunity. I love the Porsche platform and IMSA racing. I know we’ll be collecting some hardware this year, so bring on Daytona!”

Megennis won in Indy Lights with Andretti Autosport, where team co-owner Stephen Simpson coached him. Megennis brings a wealth of experience to the team and finished tied for third in the 2024 Michelin Pilot Challenge GS championship, in what was a very competitive season.

Lastochkin commented, “It’s awesome to be back with CSM after being part of the first year of their program and seeing the potential. I know 2025 is going to be a great year. Continuing my sports car career with Porsche is also fantastic and having worked for the brand at the Experience Center in Los Angeles for many years now, it truly feels like home at this point. With Rob as a teammate, I know our lineup is incredibly strong, we raced together on the Road to Indy for many years, so it’s definitely a vibe to be in the same car!”

CSM co-owner Simpson said, “I’m excited to have Robert join CSM and also be able to welcome Nikita back for his second season! I’ve known Robert for several years and coached him in 2019 when he raced in the Indy Lights (NXT) series. We stayed in touch and we both worked hard to make this deal happen. To have Nikita return is great, we quickly developed a strong relationship last season and look forward to him being able to capitalize on his 2024 experience. Robert and Nikita have known each other for many years, so having that instant chemistry was another important factor in putting this program together.”

Czabok Simpson Motorsport now has two Porsche 718 GT4 RS Clubsport cars competing in the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge championship. In addition, the team will run Jackson Lee in another Porsche 718 GT4 RS Clubsport as part of its VP Racing Challenge program to start the season at Daytona during the Roar Before the Rolex 24 race weekend.

Michelin Pilot Challenge teams will be able to test during the Roar Before the Rolex 24 from Jan. 17-19 at Daytona International Speedway. The season-opening race, the BMW M Endurance Challenge, takes place on Friday, Jan. 24 on the 3.56-mile Daytona road course.
