RAFA Racing Unveils Six IMSA Pilot Challenge, VP SportsCar Challenge Drivers For 2025

The RAFA Racing Lineup Includes Four Full-Time Drives In Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 and Matt Dicken’s Return To IMSA Paddock in LMP3

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – RAFA Racing is making a full season IMSA debut in 2025, beginning with six drivers taking center stage at Daytona International Speedway in three cars and two different championships in January.

Three entries in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and a single car in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge is just the first wave of entries for RAFA Racing’s 2025 season. Ian Porter and Kiko Porto will each pilot a Toyota GR Supra EVO2 in the sprint-racing format of VP Racing Challenge while Rafael Martinez and Jim Jonsin, joined at Daytona by Kevin Conway, will co-drive a Toyota GR Supra in the endurance-format Michelin Pilot Challenge as a Bronze entry. Matt Dicken will join Porter and Porto in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge with an Le Mans Prototype 3 (P3) class entry.

Porter, Porto and Dicken will line-up first when the VP SportsCar Challenge season opens during the Roar Before The 24, January 17 – 19. Full season co-drivers Martinez and Jonsin will be joined by Conway for the four-hour season opener at Daytona one week later, January 23-24.

Porter joined RAFA Racing a year ago for his professional racing debut, capturing the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America title in the Cayman class with 10 wins in 14 races and added a pair of Porsche Endurance Challenge wins to his tally along the way. The motorsports success comes on the heels of the esports legend’s previous career, featuring three Call of Duty World Championships and an X Games medal for esports.

Porto turned his attention to sports car racing in 2024, finishing third in the Pro Class of Lamborghini Super Trofeo after beginning on the open-wheel path. The Brazilian driver was the USF2000 champion in 2021, where he also finished second in 2023. Porto was the runner-up in the U.S. Formula 4 Championship in 2019 after competing for most of the season as a 15-year-old. Like his teammate Porter, the 21-year-old Porto will be competing in open manufacturer competition for the first time.

Dicken returns to the IMSA paddock for the 2025 season, where he has competed across multiple platforms as a bronze-rated driver. Dicken’s past history includes Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Prototype Challenge, and the precursor to Michelin Pilot Challenge, among others.

Martinez and Jonsin team for the full season in Michelin Pilot Challenge, with both driving a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 for the first time. Martinez was one of the busiest Bronze-rated drivers in motorsports a season ago, competing domestically in Porsche Sprint Challenge and internationally in SRO GT4 European Series presented by RAFA Racing Club.

Jonsin and Martinez competed against each other on the track in Porsche Sprint Challenge. Off track, Jonsin has topped music charts as a producer for Lil Wayne, T.I., Usher, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and more, winning a Grammy for his work on Lil Wayne’s 2008 single Lollipop while continuously finding time for sports car racing.

The line-up for Toyota GR Supra EVO2 machines, along with Dicken’s Ligier JS P320, is just the opening salvo for the 2025 RAFA Racing line-up. RAFA Racing will be announcing Lamborghini Super Trofeo and additional GT4 championship efforts, along with a partnership with drivers in the Mazda MX-5 Cup championship, in the coming weeks.

Rafael Martinez, Driver, IMPC Toyota GR Supra EVO2: “This is poised to be an exciting season for RAFA Racing. We know we’re going to have some very fast Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2s to put on track, no matter where they run. It’s going to be up to all of us as drivers to do our part. I plan to keep getting quicker, and teaming with Jim is going to be a lot of fun. I think we’ve got a lot to learn, but that’s part of the challenge of sports car racing. Our RAFA Racing team is poised to make some noise, and we’re thrilled to do it in the IMSA paddock for the first time.”

Jim Jonsin, Driver, IMPC Toyota GR Supra EVO2: “I’m excited, to say the least! To be presented with the opportunity to race a full season of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge with RAFA Racing in this Toyota GR Supra GT4 is already beyond where I thought this journey would take me. Rafael Martinez and I met this past season competing against one another in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America. He’s quite the personality and race car driver. We’ve had some good battles for sure. Now Rafa and I will compete as teammates in the GS (Grand Sport) Bronze class. I’m looking forward to working with the RAFA Racing family. I’m also looking forward to working with Kevin Conway and reconnecting with my old friend Corey Lewis. Rafael and Kevin have built an incredible program and I’m honored to be a part of the RAFA Family.”

Matt Dicken, Driver, VP Challenge Ligier JS P320: “Originally when I met Kevin Conway I was excited to join the champion caliber race team he had built. When I heard the news about RAFA Racing coming in to the season, my enthusiasm went up a bit. Seeing what these teams have accomplished in the past made me realize that the two teams coming together are a perfect match. After taking some time off from competitive racing for a few years my goal this season is simple. I want to get back up to speed as quickly as possible so I can fight for podiums and wins in each race. I know that the car will be prepared for me each round to be competitive, so the rest is up to me.”

Ian Porter, Driver, VP Challenge Toyota GR Supra EVO2: “Last season’s championship was a big deal, but it was just the first step in what I hope to accomplish in my motorsports career. This will be a huge jump in competition, but we’re ready for it. It will be great to have Kiko as my teammate, both adding to the challenge and pushing me forward. I can’t thank the whole team at RAFA Racing enough for bringing me along with them on the next stage of this program. The mixed manufacturer racing is going to be a new challenge, but it’s a better test of how well we can do and I can’t wait to go win some more races!”

Kiko Porto, Driver, VP Challenge Toyota GR Supra EVO2: “I’m really looking forward to being with RAFA Racing and in the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 for the 2025 season. I’ve grown to love sports car racing after the move from open-wheel racing and have found a home in this paddock. This platform is going to be a great next step in my career, and this is just the first of a few exciting opportunities and announcements for the 2025 season.
