DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – DXDT Racing has announced Alec Udell will expand his role as a full-time driver for the remainder of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Udell joins Robert Wickens as co-driver of the No. 36 Corvette ZO6 GT3.R beginning next week at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Round 4 on the 2025 IMSA Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) schedule.
A proven talent with an impressive record across multiple platforms, Udell brings a wealth of experience, precision, and competitive drive to DXDT’s IMSA program.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Alec to the DXDT Racing family,” said team owner David Askew. “His track record speaks for itself—not only in terms of results, but in the professionalism and technical depth he brings to everything he does. Alec is a perfect fit for our team culture and our racing goals.”
Udell initially joined the DXDT squad in 2024 and dominated while racing the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R with Tommy Milner. Their eight consecutive pro-class wins set a record in the GT World Challenge America Pro Class. He returned to DXDT for the 2025 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup Championship and is wecdelighted to add the remaining sprint rounds to his calendar.
“I am thrilled to be joining Robert and DXDT Racing in the sprint rounds in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Over the last year, we had great success in the shorter race formats with the DXDT Corvette Z06 GT3R. I can’t wait to get out there and bring some strong results home for the team,” said Udell.
Udell’s sharp racing acumen and background in engineering complement Wickens’ vast racing experience, making them a formidable pairing.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Robert – he doesn’t take no for an answer and finds a way to get done what he knows is possible, that takes a lot of perseverance, and that inspires me,” said Udell.
He continued, “He’s got great spirit and the kind of energy that’s infectious. You want that on your team. On top of it all, he’s super quick in everything he drives, and I can’t wait to share the car with him. I am very grateful to David (Askew-owner), Bryan (Sellers, Team Manager), Erin (Gahagan, Team Principal), and the rest of the team for their trust in me, I can’t state enough how excited I am.“
