DARK HORSE CLASS DRIVER QUOTES
CAMERON MCLEOD, No. 92 Cameron McLeod Racing Cars Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – “That race was really exciting. It’s probably a position I didn’t need to put myself in at all. It was a great race just to win that, it’s such a relief after after missing that green flag and going back down a third. But it’s fantastic and it’s great to be here. Thank you Ford for putting everything together. It’s a big deal. It’s a massive program that they haven’t shortened on anything. They treat the drivers in a team really well. They put a lot of effort into it and I think it’s paying off. So they’ve done a fantastic job.”
ROBERT NOAKER, No. 13 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – “Today, there were two other junior drivers in the back with me at the start, so we’re all we’re all shuffling around, trying to find our own gaps. Later in the race, the safety car came out and we got bunched up. Then I realized that three cars in front of me was the leader.
Cameron and I had a good battle in the last lap and a half, side drafting each other down into Indy, seeing who’s going to break deeper. I knew my last shot was going to be into Porsche Curves, I gave it everything I had.
It was awesome race racing Cameron and all the junior drivers. We were almost touching mirrors at times. This is one of those events that not many drivers get to run the track and to do it in a support series that I’m familiar with. Obviously, you always want to win, but second place from the back is as much of a win as it could be.”
SAM PALEY, No. 26 Paley Motorsport Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – “It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. We had a chance to win today. It was very challenging. The car was not ideal after the contact but happy we at least finished and even happier that we finished on the podium. This was a cool opportunity, I hope I get to do more races in Europe, especially with Ford.
It was the first time that all the junior drivers raced with each other, and we had a moment there where we were almost three wide for second, third, and fourth, between me, Jensen, and Robert. To have everyone together was awesome. Cameron did a great job as well to get dicey with us, so did Matt. Special thanks to Ford, for giving everyone the opportunity and especially us junior drivers providing us with the platform.”
DARK HORSE STARS CLASS DRIVER QUOTES
TANNER FOUST, No. 1 Spark Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – Such an experience that Ford has provided here for all of these drivers. There’s not anyone here that won’t remember absolutely every minute of this weekend for the rest of their lives, and that’s something that is hard to describe how deeply rooted this experience and everything will be with these owners. Super proud to be a part of it.
I’m happy to bring Clarios and Optima on board. Hopefully I get a chance to jump in these cars again some other time. But what an honor to be here. A lot of the behind the scenes and build up to the race, drama going on in the race, a lot of the stuff that you wouldn’t see on the broadcast, is being told in a documentary on with Racer Network. I’m hosting it and taking the audience through the experience.”
DARK HORSE LEGENDS CLASS DRIVER QUOTES
ALFONSO DIAZ, No. 15 TechSport Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “It was an exciting race for me. I knew it was going to be a challenge. We passing so many cars, the Mustang Dark Horse R was handling perfect. The TechSport crew gave me a really good car.
For me, being from Puerto Rico and coming all the way to Le Mans I am proud to have this first place trophy, and I thank Ford Performance and Ford for bringing us here. It’s a great opportunity for us, especially me from coming from a small island. It’s incredible to be able to be here and put it on a good show. These Mustangs are a dream to drive.”
TIM MILES, No. 47 Wall Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – “My race was was fantastic. To earn a podium at Le Mans, I can’t ask for more. The start was chaotic, but we were able to put our car in the right place and not involved in all of that. I’ve been involved in motorsport all my life, and this has to be one of the best organized events I’ve ever been to. To bring us to this circuit, to have the welcome that we’ve got, the hospitality, to bring your family, it’s just been such a great event. My entire family have joined it. Wall Racing, the team that’s been running me have just done a phenomenal job, and they’ve just been supported by everybody here at Ford.”
DREW NEUBAUER, No. 79 NV AutoSport-Gradient Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R – “The first lap was crazy, then I settled into a pace and there was was never a dull moment. To be at Le Mans, was very special. Ford was amazing, from the last couple years in GT4 and then coming to the Mustang challenge, Ford has been just an incredible partner. Every little detail, they make sure they handle it all. Not only for the drivers and the teams, but for the families. Happy to be here and appreciate all of our partners.”
