DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Wayne Taylor Racing announced today the full season and IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup drivers for the team’s No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 entry in the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class heading into 2026. The 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will mark the Wayne Taylor Racing team’s third full-time year competing in the GTD category. Over their first two seasons, the No. 45 DEX Lamborghini GTD team collected their first win (CTMP, 2025) and pole position (Laguna Seca, 2024) along with eight top 10 finishes.
Contesting the full season schedule for the Wayne Taylor Racing GTD will be veteran duo, Danny Formal and Trent Hindman. Formal and Hindman return as the full-time drivers for a second consecutive season. Graham Doyle will continue as the co-driver in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events which take place at Daytona International Speedway, Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, Road America and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Fresh off a season that saw lots of potential for the No. 45 team, consistency building into 2026 is what will be the key for success.
“I’m looking forward to another year with the Lamborghini GTD program,” said Wayne Taylor, team owner. “2025 was our first year running a full season and we accomplished a lot: one win, eight top ten finishes and came close twice to a podium finish. Danny Formal and Trent Hindman will be back with Graham Doyle supporting them in the endurance races. It has been a positive program for DEX, Lamborghini and WTR as we grow the race program. I am excited to get back on track.”
In preparation for 2026, the Wayne Taylor Racing No. 45 GTD team will participate in next week’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, Nov. 15-16. The No. 45 GTD Lamborghini team will kickstart the 2026 WeatherTech Championship season with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 and Rolex 24 At Daytona, Jan. 16-25.
Trent Hindman, full season co-driver, No. 45 DEX Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “2025 was a year of many lessons learned, some harder than others, but all very valuable experience. Sometimes in racing, difficult moments are needed to lay the groundwork for future success. We’ve paid our dues. It’s time to take advantage and apply our experience and lessons learned over the last 10 months to keep moving forward. The team victory at CTMP was really a major highlight of the year and showed the potential of what this team is capable of when items that are out of our control do fall our way. Our runs at Daytona and Indianapolis are also standout moments in my mind when thinking about what we can deliver on the racetrack. It’s very clear that we can achieve great things when maximizing the factors that fall within our control.
Continuity is a rare thing in motorsports and Wayne Taylor Racing is one of few organizations that is able to keep the same group engaged year in, year out.
