Ferrari Challenge Road America 2026

Ferrari Challenge Closes at Road America; Kaminskey Crowned Champion Before Finali

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Ferrari Challenge ran its last laps on North American turf in 2026, finishing with Race 2 on Sunday at Road America.

In Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, clouds loomed over the racetrack throughout the day with scattered raindrops, yet drivers navigated the conditions for their final round ahead of Finali Mondiali in November.

Trofeo Pirelli. Johnny Kaminskey (Ferrari of Long Island) lived a dream come true on Sunday, winning the 2026 Trofeo Pirelli championship.

The 17-year-old won at each racetrack in 2026, including a weekend sweep in Wisconsin, resulting in a title-worthy performance even with two races remaining.

Kaminskey started from pole position on Sunday and led flag-to-flag over runner-up Roberto Perrina (Ferrari of Seattle), his closest competitor in the standings. It was Perrina’s seventh podium of the year, and his teammate Brian Cook followed in third.

While the Trofeo Pirelli title is settled, the fight for Trofeo Pirelli Am is more uncertain than ever as Yahn Bernier (Ferrari of Seattle) held off a close field for his second win of 2026.

Bernier’s battle with Joe Rubbo (Ferrari of Long Island) enraptured the audience, as the latter started first and tried to regain the spot after Bernier took it on Lap 1. The pair were side-by-side on the final lap and made contact, but Bernier persevered.

Ahead of Sunday’s race, Bernier was 13 points behind championship leader Mitchell Green (Ferrari Westlake). While Green only finished 1.186-seconds behind Bernier, he was fourth and his lead diminished to six points ahead of Finali Mondiali.

Matthew Diehl (Midwestern Auto Group) brought home a podium for the Ohio-based team by finishing third.

Coppa Shell. For the third time this year, Charlie Menard (Twin Cities Performance) took both Coppa Shell victories at track.

Menard captured his seventh win of the season on Sunday, catapulting to second in the championship standings but admitted he will forgo Finali Mondiali. Yet, Road America is a local race for Menard as he and the crew celebrated a successful weekend.

Rounding out the lineup was Ryan Dayton (Ferrari of Washington) and championship leader Blake Rosser (Ferrari of San Diego). The podium finish inches Rosser closer to the title with only two rounds remaining.

In Coppa Shell Am, Melissa Kozyra (Ferrari of Naples) is on the verge of a championship especially after a weekend sweep at Road America. While Sunday’s win was her fifth of 2026, she approaches Finali Mondiali after winning both season-ending rounds in 2025.

Tim Duit (Ferrari Dallas) followed Kozyra in second place, his seventh podium of the year, and Jeffrey Nunberg (Ferrari of Central New Jersey) finished third.

Finali Mondiali. While Ferrari Challenge teams have raced for the last time this season in North America, crews plan for Finali Mondiali at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The final rounds are scheduled for November 17 – 23rd.
