No. 69 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Set for GTD PRO Run with Bartone, Schiller
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bartone Bros. Racing with GetSpeed has made two quick and positive impressions in its first two Rolex 24 At Daytona starts in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) class.
The team is set to expand that one-off entry into a full 2027 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup effort in GTD PRO with its No. 69 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Anthony Bartone will share the car with Fabian Schiller from Mercedes-AMG’s roster of drivers, with further drivers to be named later.
The announcement marks a significant expansion of the collaboration between Miami resident Bartone and the Germany-based GetSpeed organization, which is led by CEO and Team Principal Adam Osieka. Bartone and Schiller have been teammates in multiple programs in recent years, including the Asian Le Mans Series and International GT Open, developing a strong on-track rapport that the team believes will translate directly to the demands of IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup competition.
Bartone, who made his WeatherTech Championship debut at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2025, has become a fixture within the GetSpeed stable. His recent campaigns have included full GT World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup seasons and appearances at the Road to Le Mans event.
“It’s no secret that competing in the IMSA Endurance Cup has been a lifelong dream of mine,” Bartone said. “Being able to come back to the US with the experience I’ve gained all over the world with GetSpeed Performance is a true privilege. Being alongside my longtime teammate and friend, Fabian, makes it all the sweeter. I cannot wait to experience all of the legendary events and venues of the endurance calendar, such as the Daytona 24hr, Sebring 12hr, and Petit Le Mans. Thank you to everyone who has played any part in my racing career; it has meant the world to me. I would not be here today without the support of my father, Tony Bartone, and the mentoring of Andy Pilgrim.”
Fabian Schiller, a Mercedes-AMG factory driver, brings extensive endurance racing credentials to the effort. The German driver recently secured the most significant victory of his career, winning the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Schiller has been part of the Mercedes-AMG driver lineup since 2020 and has competed in more than 210 races worldwide for the brand.
“I’m very proud to be part of this project with Anthony, GetSpeed, and Tony Bartone,” Schiller said. “We’ve raced together in different championships, and the trust we’ve built is real. IMSA’s endurance races are among the most competitive in the world, and the GT class is incredibly deep. We’re ready for that challenge.”
GetSpeed Team Principal Adam Osieka echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the continuity that the Michelin Endurance Cup effort represents.
“Anthony and Fabian have been part of our family for several seasons now, and this IMSA Endurance Cup program is a natural progression,” said Osieka. “Our previous outings at Daytona showed what this partnership is capable of. Now we have the opportunity to compete for an Endurance Cup championship together, and everyone at GetSpeed is fully committed to that goal.”
In a record 15-car GTD PRO field in 2025, the Bartone Bros./GetSpeed entry finished an impressive fifth, with Bartone sharing the car with Schiller, Luca Stolz and Maxime Martin.
“It’s a joint venture between the Bartone Bros. and GetSpeed, and we raced IMSA for the first time,” Stolz said post-race, reflecting on the debut. “We were always in the game, always around the top five and even in the lead sometimes. The guys made a really nice strategy call with one hour to go. They basically rolled the dice and it was the right decision. We were still in it at the end, it wasn’t quite enough, but I’m still proud to finish the fight. Fabi managed it all really well.”
Lightning did not strike twice in Bartone’s encore effort in 2026. Despite being in winning contention and even leading 27 laps, electronic gremlins reduced Bartone, Schiller, Jules Gounon and Maxi Goetz to an unrepresentative 11th-place finish in GTD PRO. The effort was one of all five Mercedes-AMG cars hailed by Stefan Wendl, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing. Goetz specifically called out how well the Bartone car ran in its second Rolex 24 outing.
“Our focus was on the race right from the start, and strategically everything went according to plan,” Goetz explained. “The fuel saving and energy management worked well, we received few penalties and were able to maintain our pace. A big thank you to everyone at Team Bartone Bros with GetSpeed. The cooperation was excellent throughout and everyone gave their all. It makes it all the more bitter that we ultimately fell back due to an electronic problem and were no longer in a position to fight for the class victory. With over three hours under full course yellow, I probably drove the longest stint of my life in this race, and I can say one thing: driving behind the safety car on the oval for that long is definitely more exhausting than driving at full speed.”
As the second Mercedes-AMG entry confirmed for 2027, joining multi-time GTD champions Winward Racing, the Bartone Bros. Racing with GetSpeed car bolsters Mercedes-AMG presence at further races in 2027. Mercedes-AMG has run sporadic GTD PRO rounds with multiple teams, usually at the Rolex 24 and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring but now is set to have a car in the full IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup spanning the “36 Hours of Florida,” Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Motul Endurance SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America and Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
