WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP AUTOMOTIVE PARTNER LAMBORGHINI
Lamborghini’s V10-powered Huracán family made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014 with the Coupé, followed by the Spyder and RWD versions in 2015. The Huracán Performante, presented at Geneva Motor Show in 2017, set a lap time of 6:52.01 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, a precursor of things to come. With the Huracán EVO, debuted in 2019 and soon followed by the Spyder and RWD, came innovative technology and exceptional performance that continue to redefine the driving experience for luxury super sports cars.
Presented in 2016, the Aventador S ushered in further developments for Lamborghini’s most powerful model, introduced in August 2018 at Pebble Beach. The Aventador SVJ established itself as the new benchmark in the world of V12-powered luxury super sports cars, setting a record 6:44.97 lap time at Nürburgring. Soon after, Lamborghini introduced the SVJ Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019.
The Urus SUV, powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, was unveiled in December 2017 at the Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, showcasing the new factory facility and expanding the production capacity required to build the world’s first-ever Super SUV.
For more than 50 years, and now with 135 dealerships around the world, Automobili Lamborghini has built cars that realize the dreams of their creators—and customers. Beginning with the 350 GT, Lamborghini went on to break new ground with the Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo, and Murciélago, as well as modern limited editions including the Reventón, Sesto Elemento, Veneno and Centenario. Then arrived the all-new Sián FKP 37, the first supercapacitator-based hybrid V12 by Automobili Lamborghini.
Today, Lamborghini organizes and competes in global motorsports activities through its Squadra Corse division, established in 2013.
The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 car—built on the same production line as the roadgoing Huracán—races in 12 different series around the world, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In Europe in 2017 the Huracán GT3 won the Blancpain GT Series followed in 2019 by sweeping the board by winning the Team, Drivers and Endurance titles. The Huracán GT3 debuted in the WeatherTech Championship in 2016 in the GT Daytona class, earning its first victory, from pole, in August at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). In 2018 and 2019 it completed a double victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in the GTD Class, making Lamborghini the only company in the world to win both of the prestigious races back to back. Lamborghini closed out both the 2018 and 2019 seasons by being crowned IMSA GTD Manufacturers Champions. In 2020, Lamborghini celebrated its third victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona with a sensational one-two finish.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse also organizes the annual Super Trofeo single-make championships for the Huracán Super Trofeo car in Europe, Asia and North America. In 2017 the new Middle East series was introduced. These championships feature exciting action in a variety of classes for drivers of all skill levels.
Squadra Corse promotes racing activities through the Accademia program of driver training and also through Young Drivers and Junior programs that develop talent on and off the track, from karting all the way through to global GT3 competition.
