Road Shagger Racing Is Back with a Vengeance

Ernstone, Morley Ready to Challenge for TCR Championship

Road Shagger Racing will be returning to the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2022 with the same Audi RS3 LMS TCR but a new mindset and a key personnel change to bolster their championship chances.

In spite of winning at Sebring last season and showing great speed at times, the season still felt like a massive disappointment to the team, due to multiple mechanical and driver failures. By the time it was all said and done, they finished eighth overall, officially making it the worst season in the history of the team.

But 2022 promises to be different. The majority of the team is unchanged, including the driver lineup of Gavin Ernstone and Jon Morley, along with chief engineer Erik Peterson.

As for that key addition, RSR is ecstatic to welcome back Trevor McClure, whose strategy, spotting and driver coaching was instrumental during the team’s more successful 2019 and 2020 campaigns, where RSR finished third and fourth in points respectively.

The team will make its on-track debut this week at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test sessions. Everyone is excited to debut an updated look on the RS3 and hope that maybe, just maybe, someone on TV will finally call the car by the color it actually is. (The last one was navy blue for all of you who thought it was grey or black).

Road Shagger Racing is a professional motorsports team racing in the Touring Car (TCR) class of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. They race an Audi RS3 LMS TCR SEQ and are sponsored by Streamline Home Loans, Simply Vegas Real Estate, The Simply Group, Clear Title and Race For RP.
