DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – To say that Team TGM had a phenomenal 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season, would be the understatement of the new year. Rarely does a race team set such lofty goals at the outset of a season and accomplish all of them.
Team TGM captured the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS (Grand Sport) class: Bronze Cup Championship with Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb; Driver Championship with Matt Plumb; and with invaluable help of Matt’s co-driver Paul Holton, Team Championship.
Team TGM was also key in securing the Manufacturers Championship for Aston Martin.
“With the outstanding season we experienced last year, why change anything?” said team owner and driver Ted Giovanis.
Team TGM will compete in 2025 with drivers Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb in the No. 64 and Matt Plumb and Paul Holton piloting the No. 46, both in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 AMR Evo platform. Additionally, Kris Wilson will join the No. 64 entry co-driving with Giovanis and Hugh Plumb for the season’s four-hour races at Daytona and Mid Ohio.
“As for our goals, nothing short of a repeat of 2024! We’re looking for more wins and podium finishes but ultimately the championships are the aspiration for the entire team,” continued Giovanis.
“2025 will mark TGM’s third season racing the Vantage GT4s however we will be upgrading to the Evo edition of the car. Last year we found a comfort level with the cars in our sophomore season with Aston Martin. We understood the cars capabilities and found ways to build on the performance. This season with the Evo, we have the opportunity to build on that success.”
Team TGM has also renewed their partnership with Styled Aesthetic to provide quality and exciting new team merchandise. To commemorate their championship season Styled Aesthetic is currently offering a Team TGM championship hat and will soon be introducing a new team t-shirt.
Also in 2025 Team TGM will continue their #DrivingResearch campaign they introduced in the summer of 2024. This program focuses attention on the life-saving cancer research supported by the JKTG Foundation and the Giovanis Institute.
The team will begin the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge racing season on Friday, January 17 at 9:30am for Practice No. 1 during the Roar Before The 24 at Daytona International Speedway.
Ted Giovanis, No. 64: “We expect the competition to step up their game in 2025. There are new teams and drivers coming into the series, with new driver combinations in several cars. However, the competition in 2024 was already very tough, this speaks to the unmatched talent in the Michelin Pilot paddock. This season we are focused on improving our results race-to-race which won’t be an easy task. On the outside we are not changing much for this race season but inside the team’s desire for wins and commitment to repeating championships is stronger than ever.”
Hugh Plumb, No. 64: “Wow, I barely had time to think about how amazing 2024 was, it seems like the season just ended. Now the hard part, to repeat all of our successes. As we continue to always raise the bar at TGM, we will be ready for the task at hand. I’m so looking forward to getting back, mostly to see my teammates!! I’m thrilled to be returning with Ted (Giovanis) for the season and going for back-to-back Bronze Championships and we’re both happy to welcome back Kris (Wilson) at Daytona and Mid Ohio.”
Matt Plumb, No. 46: “2024 marked our second full season in the Aston Martins and we improved on every level which naturally comes with spending time in the cars but also is a testament to the team’s exceptional efforts. We are very excited to have the Vantage GT4 Evo edition for 2025. My goal this year, and what is driving everyone at Team TGM, is to repeat the championships in 2025. We know we need to work on our consistency. With a ten-race season, we need to make sure we are finishing on the podium as often as possible and top five every race.”
Paul Holton, No. 46: “I was brought onto Team TGM to race 9 of the 10 races in 2024 and was able to finish third in the championship. Matt and I have raced together several times in the past, so we knew each other’s driving preferences and styles. Now having a year with the rest of the team, I feel part of the TGM family. I have poles, podiums and wins in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series, this year it is all about the championship.”
