SUPPLY, N.C.– McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) is happy to announce that 20-year-old German racing driver Finn Wiebelhaus will join the team for the remainder of the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.
Wiebelhaus will pilot the No. 13 Ford Mustang GT4 alongside current Grand Sport (GS) class championship leader Robert Noaker, beginning with the upcoming Michelin GT Challenge weekend at VIRginia International Raceway (the Michelin Pilot Challenge race is the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers Grand Prix).
Wiebelhaus brings an impressive and rapidly growing resume to the MMR squad. After beginning his karting career in 2019, he quickly rose through the European ranks, securing the South Germany ADAC Kart Cup in 2021 and 2022, along with titles in the ADAC Kart Masters and West Germany ADAC Kart Cup. He transitioned to single-seaters in 2023, competing in the French F4 Championship.
In 2025, Wiebelhaus established himself as a premier GT3 talent. Competing as a Ford Racing GT3 junior with Haupt Racing Team (HRT), he dominated the ADAC GT Masters, securing the championship with three wins, four podiums, and two pole positions. His performance earned him the highly coveted “Road to DTM” title, propelling him into the top tier of GT racing for 2026.
Making his DTM debut this season with HRT Ford Racing, Wiebelhaus has been a revelation. He currently leads the rookie standings and has already earned two podium finishes. Notably, he helped secure the Ford Mustang GT3’s first-ever DTM pole position at the DEKRA Lausitzring, following it up with consecutive podiums across the early stages of the season.
By pairing a proven European champion with Robert Noaker, who has driven the No. 13 MMR Ford Mustang GT4 to the top of the Michelin Pilot Challenge championship leaderboard, MMR is reinforcing its commitment to securing the 2026 Grand Sport (GS) title.
Looking Ahead to the Championship
Chad McCumbee, Co-Owner of McCumbee McAleer Racing:
“We are happy to welcome a talent like Finn to the MMR family for the final stretch of the season. He has already proven himself as a top-tier competitor in Europe, and his experience within the Ford Racing ecosystem makes him a perfect fit for our program. The team has done an incredible job putting the No. 13 Mustang at the top of the GS class standings, and by adding Finn’s speed and racecraft, we are putting our best foot forward to bring home the championship.”
Robert Noaker:
“It’s been a great season so far, and I’m looking forward to teaming up with Finn for these final three endurance rounds. He brings a ton of high-level GT experience to the table. Our focus right now is executing perfectly at VIR, Indy, and Road Atlanta to lock down this championship, and I know Finn is ready to help us get it done.”
Finn Wiebelhaus:
“I am excited to join McCumbee McAleer Racing and make my IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge debut. Transitioning to the American circuits is a thrilling new challenge, and to do it with a championship-leading team in the Ford Mustang GT4 is a massive opportunity. I’ve been watching the team’s success closely, and I am ready to get to work with Robert and the entire MMR crew to help secure the GS title. I can’t wait for the green flag at VIR!”
