Don Yount and Jonathan Klein Will Share CSM’s No. 3 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo in the GS Class as the Team Fields Two Full-Season Aston Martin Entries in 2027
INDIANAPOLIS – Czabok-Simpson Motorsport (CSM) today announced Don Yount and Jonathan Klein as the full-season driver pairing for its No. 3 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo in the 2027 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Grand Sport (GS) class. The No. 3 will be one of two full-season CSM entries in 2027, with both cars running Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo machinery.
Yount returns to a full-time IMSA campaign with extensive sports car experience across Prototype Challenge, Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) machinery. He began competing professionally in IMSA in 2015, has made multiple starts in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and was part of Turner Motorsport’s GTD-winning lineup at the 2018 Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. The Dallas-based driver also founded Yount Motorsports.
Klein returns to professional competition after nearly two decades away from the sport. The Long Grove, Illinois, native progressed through Star Mazda before moving to the Indy Pro Series with Andretti Green Racing in 2006. He finished second in the championship, earned a pole at Kentucky Speedway and collected multiple podium finishes before racing with Team Moore Racing in 2007 and making four late-season Indy Lights appearances in 2008.
The pairing combines Yount’s extensive endurance-racing background with Klein’s open-wheel experience. Both drivers will work with CSM throughout the full 2027 Michelin Pilot Challenge season as the team continues the Aston Martin program it introduced during the second half of 2026.
Don Yount Returns to Full-Time IMSA Competition
“I’m really excited to be back racing full time in IMSA in 2027 and this time, in the Michelin Pilot Challenge series. I’ve known Stephen for many years, and I’m looking forward to joining his team. The team has done a great job with its Aston Martin Vantage GT4 cars throughout the second half of the 2026 season, and I’m eager to get behind the wheel at Daytona in January. There’s plenty to build on, and I’m excited to work with everyone to carry that momentum into 2027.”
Jonathan Klein Returns to Racing
Klein’s 2027 program marks a return to professional racing after his last Indy Lights appearance in 2008. His earlier career included a runner-up finish in the 2006 Indy Pro Series championship with Andretti Green Racing and a 2007 season in which he and Stephen Simpson competed in the same Indy Pro Series paddock.
“After almost two decades away from the sport, I am thrilled to return to racing in 2027 and join CSM. My wife and I grew up at racetracks, and those are experiences we fondly look back on. I am deeply grateful to my parents for introducing me to racing at a young age, as it was foundational to all areas of my life. With two boys of our own, I cannot think of a better experience to share with them, or a better way to teach them what passion, focus, resilience, teamwork, and triumph look like.”
“Stephen and I were teammates in Indy Lights in 2007, so returning to racing with his team feels like a full-circle moment and a very comfortable environment to restart my passion. Making lifelong memories with my family while doing what I truly love? It is an opportunity I simply couldn’t pass up.”
Building Toward 2027
“I am very excited to welcome Jonathan and Don to CSM. They will make a strong driver pairing, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together. Jonathan and I met in 2007 when we were teammates in Indy Lights, now known as Indy NXT, and we have stayed in touch ever since. I have also known Don for many years, having competed against him in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship in 2015 and 2016. It’s great to bring everyone together for a strong, full-season program.” – Stephen Simpson, CSM co-owner
