The IMSA family lost a dear friend over the weekend, as longtime photographer John Thawley passed away on Sunday. Thawley loved to portray the human side of the sport, and one of his trademarks was a collection of portraits he liked to call “Faces at the Races.” Armed with his Leica camera, he’d work the paddock and pit lane, and the results were stunning.
As a tribute to Thawley, we present this “Faces at the Races” highlight reel. Godspeed, John. Your many friends in the IMSA paddock will miss you.
