Michelin’s unique experience and relentless focus on innovation makes it the technical partner of choice for many top manufacturer and independent teams in motorsports. Michelin has an outstanding record in motorsports endurance racing and has claimed the last 26 consecutive overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Motorsports is an integral part of Michelin’s research and development process, and the specialists who operate out of its Technology Centers in Europe, North America and Asia work hand-in-hand with Michelin’s Motorsport engineers and Motorsport Tire Specialists to develop technologies first in racing tires and then carry over the resulting innovations to everyday tires used by drivers around the world.

In 2019, Michelin became the Official Tire of IMSA. Currently, Michelin is the exclusive tire provider for the WeatherTech Championship LMDh/GTP, LMP2 and GT Daytona classes and all classes in both IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge and IMSA VP Racing Challenge series.

In 2024, Michelin will be the tire provider for two other series under IMSA’s portfolio of race series. The Ford Mustang Challenge and the Mazda MX-5 Cup will feature Michelin race tires this season. The Mustang Challenge tires was specifically designed for this series and manufactured in the United States.

Michelin has helped set 262 race and qualifying records since 2019 and has recently confirmed its dedication to provide the tire solution for IMSA through 2028.

Beyond IMSA, Michelin races at Le Mans, in major endurance races worldwide, and in the FIA World Endurance Championship, MotoGP World Championship and other global series.

The IMSA 2024 season concludes at Michelin’s “home track” - Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with Motul Petit Le Mans, just a short drive from the North American headquarters in Greenville, S.C.
