IMSA MICHELIN SUSTAINABILITY IN RACING AWARD
Building on IMSA’s decades of shared sustainability initiatives with Michelin, the IMSA Michelin Sustainability in Racing Award showcases the innovative Hybrid Electrified GTP platform and Michelin’s sustainable tire technology. This award reflects the shared commitment of IMSA and Michelin to advancing sustainability and innovation in motorsports.
The award honors the GTP car that demonstrates the highest sustainability performance at each race, culminating in a season-long champion. The winner is scored across three key metrics: tire usage, energy efficiency (including 80 percent renewable biofuel and regenerative electric power), and race finish position.

Realtime data for Tire Use, Energy Use and Position on the Track from each GTP car are factored to create the Sustainability Score. Like in golf, a lower score is better.
