Ford Finalizes Rolex 24 Lineup for New Mustang GT3

Chris Mies Will Co-Drive the No. 64 Mustang, with Frederic Vervisch in the No. 65

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ford Performance has named the drivers who will fill out the rosters for the Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3s competing next month in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, as the blue oval makes its return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Chris Mies will join full-season co-drivers Harry Tincknell and Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 64 Mustang, with Frederic Vervisch pairing with Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller in the No. 65 Mustang. The Rolex 24 will mark the global racing debut of the Mustang GT3 as the iconic nameplate enters its 60th anniversary year.

Mies and Vervisch were among five drivers added to the Ford factory list to compete in sports car series around the world. Mies is a two-time ADAC GT Masters champion who has appeared in 13 WeatherTech Championship races, including a GT Daytona (GTD) class win at the 2017 Motul Petit Le Mans. Vervisch is a two-time winner at the Nurburgring 24 Hours whose lone WeatherTech Championship start resulted in a third-place finish at the 2019 Rolex 24.

“To take an icon like Mustang racing, we need a lineup of the best and most experienced GT racers, and our nine sports car factory drivers represent just that,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports. “Together with our partners at Multimatic Motorsports and our first customer teams, Proton Competition and Dinamic GT, we are ready to take on the best in the world at the most iconic race circuits. I can’t wait to get started at Daytona in January.”
