SAM PALEY, No. 26 Southern Paley Motorsports LLC Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “I am just so elated. The crew came on the radio with about 13 minutes left, and I had to politely tell them to let me focus, so I could keep putting down laps. I knew I had a gap, but you still need to keep it clean. I saw the white flag, cruised home, and I was so excited to cross that start-finish. I think that white flag was the longest lap of my life.

I have to give credit to Robert Noaker Racing, because they figured it out before we all did. In between Watkins Glen International and Road America, we did some testing. There are so many things you can change in this car within the homologation, and I think we found a good setup here. We finally closed that gap. Robert, Tyler and Jeremy are all fantastic drivers. I’m really excited for this championship fight.”

BRANDON GDOVIC, No. 46 Precision Performance Motorsports Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “It was overall a good weekend for us. We were super fast in practice, but we didn’t keep up on the conditions. I was actually worried about making any changes to the car, because we made some ground. We were free in qualifying, and super free in the first race. We snug it up for the second race, and it was a rocketship. It was a good race for us, and we think we have a good piece going into COTA.”

TYLER MAXSON, No. 74 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “It was an awesome day points-wise. We did the best we could. Congratulations to Sam on the win. It was a challenging weekend, but overall good for the points. We grew over Robert but lost a little to Sam. We’ll move on to COTA and give it everything we have.”

ZACHRY LEE, No. 48 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “The car was incredible today. I just need to improve on restarts. I fumbled the start and two restarts, giving the guys a chance. I had the pace to drive away from them, but when you get sucked in, you’re battling and making mistakes. I also need to start being more aggressive with the ‘red’ guys (DH competitors), who slow it down and bring my class competitors to me. I can’t just sit and wait. I’ll clean those up for COTA. I’m from San Antonio, and I know that track well. I felt like Road America was my weakest track, and I got max points. So now, I feel good about the rest of the season.”

MIKE STILLWAGON, No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “We’ve had a bit of misfortune with the full-course yellows at the end of races, so it was nice to see this one stay green and the leaders settle it down. I know I can be on the podium, if not winning the race. I had Zach Lee for a while, passing him in the braking zone of Canada Corner there. But, I went wide in Turn 1 and he gathered it back up. It was an unbelievable race today.”

ALEX BACHOURA, No. 33 Spark Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “It was a good race. I don’t know if I knocked the toe out a bit but it got pretty loose, so I did the best I could to keep it with the top-two guys. Everybody wants to win, and they won’t give you an inch. Mustang Challenge is very competitive, and the talent pool is really deep. That’s what makes it fun and you can learn so much doing this.”
