Inter Europol Competition Confirmed for Solo LMP2 Entry in 2025 Season

Team Will Run Its Own Car Next Year after Partnering with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports This Season

 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Inter Europol Competition (IEC) is leading the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class standings in this year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship while partnering with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports. IEC will be back on its own in 2025, with its own LMP2 entry confirmed for the upcoming season.

 

Drivers for the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition ORECA LMP2 07 have yet to be named, but team manager Sascha Fassbender is eager for the opportunity.

 

“We’re thrilled to be participating in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025,” Fassbender said. “This will be under ‘Inter Europol Competition,’ and we will set up our base in the United States for this program. We’re all looking forward to this new challenge for our team. … We could not be more excited for this new chapter as we continue to perform at such a high level and grow our team.”

 

The No. 52 Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA leads this season’s LMP2 standings by 98 points heading into the season finale, the Motul Petit Le Mans on Oct. 12. The No. 52 has accrued one win (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) and two other podium finishes this far in 2024.
