Blake Mount Announces Partnership with Motel 6 Ahead of 2020 IMSA Prototype Challenge Season

Blake Mount is joining forces with Motel 6 for the 2020 IMSA Prototype Challenge season.

Mount, Denver, Colorado, is gearing up for his second season in IMSA Prototype Challenge with Performance Tech Motorsports in the No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JS P3. Coming off of a successful first season, Mount is ready to put his Ligier to the test with Motel 6 starting January 3 at Daytona International Speedway for the ROAR Before the 24. With perseverance and the support of great partners, Mount’s opportunity to win the championship grows closer each day.

“There are so many reasons that it means the absolute world to me that Motel 6 is supporting my 2020 run for the championship,” Mount said. “If I had to pick a place to start, it would be the fact that everyone I have met and worked with thus far at Motel 6 has been very genuine and honest. I am thankful for the opportunity to represent Motel 6 on the racetrack. As a driver, the championship will always be my central focus, but I’ve grown to realize how grateful I am to be able to wear the blue, red, and white of Motel 6 while I chase that goal.”

Motel 6 returns Mount’s excitement for the championship chase. The company looks forward to a thrilling year of motorsport action and shares Mount’s passion and drive for success. For nearly 60 years, Motel 6 has provided people with an affordable, welcoming place to rest wherever their journey takes them.

The iconic brand started in 1962 when it turned the lights on at the first Motel 6 in Santa Barbara, California. Now with nearly 1,500 locations in the United States and Canada, the brand is known for providing a clean, comfortable room with great service at a fair price. Motel 6 has evolved into a household name synonymous with value, making them an ideal partner within the IMSA paddock.

The opportunity to work with Blake and his team made sense to us on so many levels. Not only is Blake a passionate and ambitious driver, but he embodies the adventurous spirit of Motel 6 and its guests,” said Mike McGeehan, Chief Development Officer of Motel 6.

Mount, Motel 6 and Performance Tech Motorsports share a passion for bringing people together and this partnership is an opportunity to share the fan-centric, high-energy sport of racing with Motel 6 team members and guests.  The partnership will simultaneously introduce new guests to the Motel 6 brand and create new motorsport fans as they cheer on Mount throughout the season.

Racing is not just a spectator sport, it is an immersive experience for all. This partnership with Motel 6’s team and guests serves as a great opportunity to provide both fans and sponsors unparalleled access to the inner-workings of the sport, from the paddocks and the pits, to the drivers and mechanics,” said Rob Palleschi, Chief Executive Officer at Motel 6.

Mount’s No. 6 Motel 6 Ligier JS P3 will make its on-track debut at Daytona International Speedway for Round One of IMSA Prototype Challenge. The event features the first of two endurance races in the season, with the competition lasting three hours rather than one hour and 45-minutes.
