Amelia Island IMSA Trophy 2020

Third Annual IMSA Award to be Presented at Amelia Island Concours Sunday

Amelia Island IMSA TrophyDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – This weekend’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance – near Jacksonville, Florida – is one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the United States. Look no further than this year’s honoree at the Concours, the legendary Roger Penske, for evidence of that fact.

The three-day event features a variety of test drives, seminars, auctions – and of course, rare opportunities for attendees to see some of the most valuable and historically significant cars in automotive history on display.

On Sunday afternoon, the Concours wraps up with an awards presentation. And for the third consecutive year, one of those awards will be the “International Motor Sports Association” Award, which goes to the most historically significant IMSA car at the Concours.

The inaugural award presented in 2018 went to Nissan with its GTP 88-01 race car. Last year, Rob Dyson took home the IMSA award for his Porsche 962, the first customer 962 – chassis No. 101. This year’s award will be presented for the first time by IMSA President John Doonan. Check back with us on IMSA.com next week to learn who will win the 2020 IMSA Award.

And if you’re interested in attending the Concours, tickets are available at the gate and from a variety of car dealerships throughout the Jacksonville area. More information is available at ameliaconcours.org.
