Simioni To Drive No. 3 JDX Racing Entry in 2020 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama

LOVELAND, Colo. – JDX Racing is excited to announce the signing of Ethan Simioni to pilot the No. 3 Hertz/Byers Porsche in the 2020 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama season.

Simioni began racing in 2013, winning multiple Canadian karting races and championships before graduating to the Canadian Touring GT Championship in 2018, winning the championship in his rookie year. In 2019, Simioni moved to the GT3 Cup Challenge Canada series, finishing fifth in the championship with five podium finishes.

Looking to build on his success in GT3 Cup Canada, Simioni wants to focus his efforts on the larger and more competitive GT3 Cup Challenge USA series.

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama begins its 16th season this weekend, March 13-15 with the opening round at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, FL. The green flag for the first race of the weekend – and the season – waves at 9:45 a.m. ET Saturday.

Ethan Simioni:
“I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity! I did a mid-season test with JDX Racing in 2019, while racing in Canada, just to try and up my game on-track. That test was a huge eye opener for me. In just one day of testing with JDX, my driving and understanding of the GT3 Cup car improved massively. I knew that I wanted to race in the USA and drive for JDX Racing in 2020. Of course, representing Hertz and Byers Porsche is a great honor. Now, to finally be here and behind the wheel of the Hertz/Byers Porsche is huge. I’m really looking forward to maximizing this opportunity.”

Jeremy Dale, JDX Managing Partner:
Ethan is a perfect fit for JDX Racing and the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Championship. We met Ethan back in July of 2019 when he tested with us at Road America and we watched him very closely all season. We very quickly decided he was going to be a great fit for JDX Racing and I can’t express how excited and proud we are to have him driving the No. 3 Hertz/Byers Porsche in 2020. He’s a proven winner with a great amount of talent. There’s a hugely competitive atmosphere in the GT3 Cup paddock and I know Ethan’s work ethic and enthusiasm will keep us at the top of the field. We can’t wait to get to St. Pete and get the season started.”
