The first two rounds of the 2020 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama season have been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual Victoria Day SpeedFest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was initially set for May 14-17 at the Bowmanville, Ontario circuit. It is hoped the event can be rescheduled later in the year.
The decision to postpone was made by CTMP ownership and management, the event partners and the various sanctioning bodies that participate in the event weekend.
With the announcement, GT3 Cup Challenge Canada would now open its season at Watkins Glen International as part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Six Hours of the Glen weekend on June 25-28. The pair of 45-minute races would run in conjunction with the series’ American counterpart, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.
