Heinricher Racing Aims High for Road America Race Weekend

After a long-awaited return to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action last month at Daytona International Speedway, Heinricher Racing heads to Road America this weekend with Alvaro Parente and Misha Goikhberg once again joining forces in the No. 57 Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3.

The third round of IMSA competition takes place at the 4.0-mile, natural-terrain circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. A fan and driver favorite, Road America recently announced the admittance of fans under strict safety guidelines for the IMSA SportsCar Weekend.

Parente and Goikhberg are coming off a strong, fourth-place finish at Daytona last month and are looking to carry that momentum to a podium this race weekend. Parente will be making his second IMSA race start at Road America after making his debut with Meyer Shank Racing in 2018, where he placed seventh.

“We head to Road America this weekend and it’s a racetrack I really enjoy,” said Parente. “I can’t wait to continue the work we have been putting in to try and improve and gain some positions in the championship. We’re hopeful our hard work will lead to a great result this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing the team again and continuing our fight for the results we deserve.”

Goikhberg has driven nearly every type of race machinery at Road America, but will make his debut in the Acura NSX GT3 this weekend. Having competed in Trans-Am, IMSA Prototype Lites and USF200 at the track, Goikhberg has a large memory bank of knowledge to rely on.

“I feel like we are now getting into the thick of the season, so we are looking to optimize our performance at Road America this weekend,” said Goikhberg. “Road America is always a great time and is one of the best historic tracks that we go to. I can’t wait to drive our Acura NSX GT3 and get a good result for the Heinricher Racing team and all our sponsors.”

Team principal Jackie Heinricher is also looking to capitalize on the team’s strong restart to the 2020 season.

“Like a lot of fans and drivers, Road America is my favorite,” Heinricher said. “And, it’s always good to bring momentum to a track you enjoy. We’ve had a good start to our season and are currently sixth in the point standings. We’re focused on the podium, having just missed out at Daytona. The Heinricher Racing team is ready.”

The two-hour-and-40-minute Road America race will be broadcast live on NBC starting at 12:00pm ET on Sunday August 2nd.
