MLT Motorsports Continues Championship Challenge at Road America

The #54 MLT Motorsports Ligier JSP3 LMP3 car heads to Road America looking to capitalize on its strong start to the season. Currently sitting in 2nd position in the IMSA Prototype Challenge series, drivers Dakota Dickerson and Dominic Cicero are focused on a strong finish at the historic race track in Wisconsin.

The team’s 3rd place finish at Daytona in January, coupled with a 4th place finish at Sebring just two weeks ago has them well position for a championship run, just four points behind series leader K2R Motorsports.

Dean Baker paired with Dickerson at Daytona, but has been hampered with travel restrictions traveling to and from his home in Canada, forcing him to miss both Sebring and the upcoming Road America race. Cicero joined the team for Sebring and will continue sharing driving responsibilities at Road America this weekend.

“It’s been a good start to the season results-wise, pretty happy to be in 2nd overall after two rounds,” said Dickerson. “Both Dean and Dominic have driven great and the crew has given us a car to compete with. I am looking forward to Road America this weekend – it is actually the track where I clinched the F3 Americas championship in 2019, so I have some pretty fond memories there. I hope to add some more this weekend.”

Dickerson is also in the hunt for the driver championship, sitting in 2nd position, just 4 points behind Matt Bell and Naveen Rao.

This weekend’s race is Saturday at 11:35 EDT and will be available live on TrackPass and NBC Sports Gold.
