PF Racing will be back in action for the fourth round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) at the renowned Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this coming weekend. The Missouri outfit is thrilled to welcome new driver Drew Staveley who will be paired with regular driver James Pesek for this 2-hour endurance race.
Drew is no stranger to the IMPC field as he competed in the Daytona round with G3/Ian Lacy Racing a few months ago. Staveley finished the 4-hour endurance in 12th place, just behind the #40 PF Racing Ford Mustang.
Staveley has a solid experience in racing, and more importantly, behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang GT4. He won the GT4 America Am Championship last year with Ian Lacy Racing, driving a Mustang. This year, he is currently sitting 3rd in the GT4 America Sprint Pro class standings.
G3/Ian Lacy Racing and PF Racing has a long history of working together, which made the decision of putting Staveley in the car this weekend very easy; "PF Racing has helped a lot when we got our Mustang, they are a great source of people to ask questions to. I am excited to drive with them and to see the potential of what we can achieve together," said Drew.
"I am very excited about coming back to VIR this weekend for IMSA," added Staveley. "I have been to VIR multiple times, more recently one month ago when I competed in the GT4 America Championship, and I felt very comfortable with the car on this track. However, this time around, we will be driving in a much larger field, with the best of the best. I think James and I will have a good chance to run at the top."
As for James Pesek, even though the season started on a high note with a P11 finish at Daytona, the two other rounds didn’t go as planned, but VIR should be another story; "I am confident that we are going to be able to race closer to the top of the field. Our Balance of Performance (BoP) seems better than at Sebring and Road America, which will help us greatly. A slight difference in the BoP can make a huge difference in such a strong field."
The Virginia Is For Racing Lovers Grand Prix will air live on Sunday, August 23, at 2:50 pm ET on TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold.
