Top Two Finishers in the Forza Motorsport 7 Series Win a Dream Experience
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Racing gamers in the United States and Mexico have the opportunity to win a dream real-life race experience to attend the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale by competing in the 2021 Motorsports Gaming Series powered by IMSA.
Using the Forza Motorsport 7 game on the Xbox One platform, gamers may participate in four rounds of competition held in conjunction with the actual WeatherTech Championship race weeks. The first round opens today in advance of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts on March 20.
Players registered at www.motorgseries.gg may set their best virtual lap time around the Sebring International Raceway circuit before the Wednesday, March 17 deadline. The top 60 laps recorded qualify for the first Motorsports Gaming Series powered by IMSA race, which will take place during the official race weekend, also using the virtual Sebring road course.
Succeeding Motorsports Gaming Series rounds will be conducted leading into the WeatherTech Championship races at Lime Rock Park (qualifying lap times may be recorded July 7-13), Road America (July 28-Aug. 3) and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (Sept. 1-7). Again, the 60 fastest qualifiers at each event will battle it out in a race on the same virtual tracks during the WeatherTech Championship race weekends.
The two gamers who accumulate the most points in the four Motorsports Gaming Series races each win the grand prize of a trip to the Motul Petit Le Mans, the 2021 WeatherTech Championship finale in November. Included in the package are hotel accommodations, a gift card to pay for roundtrip airfare and ground transportation, admission to the track, VIP access to the IMSA Paddock Club and a safety car ride around the famous Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta circuit that plays host to the Motul Petit Le Mans.
