ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Ferrari Challenge fans have much to look forward to this weekend, as the North American series returns to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for just the fifth time in its history.
The 4.048-mile circuit has long been a favorite amongst sports car fans, and it was 2023 that the Prancing Horse last took over the town. Prior, the series ran at Road America in 2014, 2017 and 2021.
Ferrari most recently celebrated a podium at Road America – finishing second in the GTD class during last month’s IMSA SportsCar Championship endurance event – and nearly 60 drivers in Ferrari Challenge hope to write their name in history this weekend.
Midwestern Celebration. A quartet of teams celebrate Ferrari Challenge’s return to the midwestern United States, with Ferrari of Lake Forest leading the charge.
Less than two hours from Road America, Ferrari of Lake Forest has representatives in all four classes: David Musial Sr. and son David Musial Jr. in Trofeo Pirelli, Logan Broughton in Trofeo Pirelli Am, Aaron Zeigler and Joel Rose in Coppa Shell, and Henry Hummel in Coppa Shell Am.
A stone’s throw across Lake Michigan, Cauley Ferrari of Detroit follows with two entries: Joe Cauley in Trofeo Pirelli Am and Scott Barry in Coppa Shell Am.
One entry apiece is Ferrari of Central Ohio with Matthew Diehl and Minnesota-based Twin Cities Performance with Charlie Menard. The drivers are competing in Trofeo Pirelli Am and Coppa Shell Am, respectively.
Championship Closing In. The penultimate event of the season may be one of the most challenging, as not one of the four class championship leaders ran at Road America in 2023.
Johnny Kaminskey (Ferrari of Long Island) holds a lead of more than 50 points in Trofeo Pirelli. The teenage driver looks to continue his streak of winning at every racetrack this season, while Roberto Perrina (Ferrari of Seattle) and Brad Fauvre (Ferrari of San Francisco) are within six points of each other for the runner-up spot.
The years-long duel between Mitchell Green (Ferrari Westlake) and Yahn Bernier (Ferrari of Seattle) rages on at Road America, as the friendly rivals are separated by 15 points in the Trofeo Pirelli Am standings. Green’s two podium finishes at Sonoma Raceway in July gave him breathing room over Bernier with four races remaining.
The battle for Coppa Shell is just as narrow – Blake Rosser (Ferrari of San Diego) leads Chuck Whittall (Ferrari of Central Florida) by 23 points, but Charlie Menard is hot on their tails. The latter has won five of the last six rounds, while Rosser seeks his first podium since Laguna Seca in June and Whittall hopes for his first win of 2026.
Lastly, Melissa Kozyra’s consistency with Ferrari of Naples has created space between her and the Coppa Shell Am field. Only twice this season has she finished off the podium, and Kozyra holds a 27-point margin over Fabian Sperman (The Collection) in second. Tim Duit (Ferrari Dallas) follows by another 17 marks in third.

Official on-track action at Road America begins Friday, September 11, after two days of testing on Wednesday and Thursday.
Qualifying kicks off Saturday’s activities at 9:40 a.m. CT (10:40 a.m. ET), followed by the green flag for Coppa Shell Race 1 at 2 p.m. and at 3 p.m. for Trofeo Pirelli.
Qualifying 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with the second Trofeo Pirelli race at 2 p.m. and Coppa Shell at 3 p.m.
