PORSCHE GT3 CUP CHALLENGE CANADA THE CLASSES

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama enters its tenth season in 2020 ready to produce more intense, exciting competition for semi-professional and aspiring professional drivers in the world’s most produced and iconic race car, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The series is one of Porsche's global single-make Cup Challenge series and is the perfect platform for aspiring drivers to ascend to the highest levels of GT competition, such as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Racing is divided into three classes – Platinum Cup, featuring the new 2017 Type 991 Cup; Gold Cup, which is comprised of the previous iteration (model years 2014 - 2016) of the race car; and Silver Cup, which is comprised of the 2016 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. A Masters Championship also is conducted in the Platinum class. Each class is awarded with its own podium at the end of every race and individual champion at the end of every season. Points are awarded by finish in class.

Platinum Class
Car Type:  2017 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
Engine:  4L, 6-cylinder naturally aspirated
Produces:  485 bhp at 8,500 rpm

Gold Class
Car Type:  2014 - 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
Engine:  3.8L, 6-cylinder naturally aspirated
Produces:  460 bhp at 8,500 rpm

Silver Class
Car Type:  2016 Cayman GT4 Clubsport
Engine:  3.8L, 6-cylinder naturally aspirated
Produces:  385 bhp at 7,400 rpm
